Hazardous Pine Tree Removal

Kruger Solutions was engaged by the Newbury Recreation Reserve committee to remove mature hazardous pine trees from a valued public reserve. The project required safe tree removal, heavy timber handling, stakeholder communication and public asset protection in challenging weather conditions. This vegetation clearing project mattered because the trees posed a significant safety risk, with local authorities considering closing the reserve until the hazards were addressed.

The reserve contained mature pine trees that had become unsafe due to age, size and declining condition. Their removal was technically complex because of the weight of the timber, the public nature of the site and nearby infrastructure requiring protection. The project also involved community sensitivity, with some concern around the tree removals. Poor weather added further difficulty, creating delays and extra clearing work throughout the project.

Non-recoverable vegetation and timber were managed through a controlled burn program, including permit coordination, fire management and final site rehabilitation. Despite the challenging conditions, the reserve was left safe, clean and ready for its intended community use.
