VicRoads Roundabout Vegetation Clearing

Kruger Solutions was engaged by Winslow Civil to undertake vegetation clearing for a VicRoads roundabout project at the intersection of two major rural roads. The works included removing designated trees and grinding stumps to prepare the site for civil construction. This roadside vegetation clearing project mattered because the construction program depended on safe, compliant clearing beside live traffic and critical infrastructure.

The project site was located beside active public roads and included significant nearby infrastructure, including power poles, overhead power lines and an electrical substation. Kruger Solutions needed to remove designated trees along both sides of the roadway for approximately 100 metres while protecting public safety, traffic flow, site personnel and utility assets. The works also needed to be completed within the construction program to avoid delaying the next stage.

Kruger Solutions worked under approved traffic management plans in close coordination with traffic control personnel and Winslow Civil. Detailed planning and controlled tree removal techniques were used to manage the risks of working near live traffic and critical electrical infrastructure. The team maintained clear communication between operators, traffic controllers and the principal contractor, ensuring safety procedures were followed and works progressed efficiently without unnecessary disruption.

Kruger Solutions completed the vegetation removal and stump grinding within the required timeframe, allowing Winslow to commence the next stage of roundabout construction without delay. All nearby infrastructure was protected, with no damage to power poles, overhead lines or the electrical substation. Surplus vegetation was repurposed, including mulch supplied to neighbouring landowners, with 100% of surplus vegetation diverted from landfill through recycling and reuse initiatives.
